KJ's Journey

Good morning Manali

19/6/2014

Long bus ride
Fifteen hours in the shaky bus and we finally arrived in Manali. I was able to get some sleep, but I think I have blisters on my ass from sitting so freaking long.

Beautiful
Just checked in to a guesthouse and trying to figure out how to move from Keylong to Leh, which would be a total of 18-19 hours. Going from 39 degrees Delhi to a nice comfortable 20 degrees Manali is very nice. Enjoying the absolutely marvelous view, green and snowy mountains, clear streaming river and fresh air; this is how I imagined India to be and not like Slum Dog Millionaire :P.  Anyway, I keep it short and let the pictures do the talking.

Lessons learned
India is a big place, not all places are like the stereotyping what we see in the media. I noticed that mental concepts of things we have seen or heard creates certain judgement or prejudice. If we are always caught up in these mental concepts of things, we truly miss out on the beautiful things in life. Be here and enjoy the moment, with an open mind. The judgement of one, does not mean generalization, or that it would be automatically your own view for all coming events and so on. Things are just as they are, the view is only yours. Let that conceptual view and judgement go, and life will be a much more enjoyable journey, no matter where you are.

Ow yes, need to get a cushion for the long rides :P

Marcus quote of the day
"This is like the Indian espresso" (which basically was just something to improve digestion - check out the pictures)
